Just imagine it! Suck.

Lovely to be back from Christmas antivacation. We moved out of an appartment and moved all the stuff to mine. Completely. After all I feel as I packed all the time. Though it's not totally true, because I managed to knit a pair of socks for myself. Not a moment too early. The appartment we left is COLD. I wouldn't survive without my knitted socks. The pattern I used is Cable Rib Socks of Erica Alexander. I modified it a little, not because I wanted, just because I didn't read the pattern :-) The yarn is Step, Mint-color. Or actually, it is only one of the three stripes is mint, other two are brown and light-grey. I would like to make some nice stitch pattern on my socks, but stripes hide the most of the patterns. So two cables, mirror images of each other, is quite enough in this case. Colors on the photo looks paler than real. I blame winter day's light :-)
Another photografic color-misfortune is my Bucket-hat. I look like a mushroom in it, but you can't see it on the picture (lucky me) :-) And my ears are cold in it. They don't like cold. The hat will be frogged. Wait and see...
While I'm rapporting here my achievements, I have to mention Sara's wristwarmers and father-in-law's marine-blue socks. Both are Christmas gifts to Sara and my father-in-law, respectively. I'm quick as lightning to pack and post my gifts, so I have no pic of the socks. Don't be sad, you wouldn't see a thing on that dark marine yarn, it was just rib pattern. I didn't make any pattern because it would be invisible any way :-) I managed to stop Sara on her way out and take a pic of Sara's wristwarmers (in the awful bad light, I had no choise, but it's a pic!). Wristwarmers are knitted of double stranded turquoise Drops Alpaca, pattern is Annas muddar.
I managed to buy a missing purple skein for my Intoxicating. I'm not so sure if I absolutely like the combination of it and green. I wanted plum-purple silk with 100 m per 100 g, which I guess is rather rare (of cause I could take several strands of yarn and get the right yardage, but I didn't find anything that would grant the request). So I purchased ink-purple Debbie Bliss Pure Silk from Garnkorgen. I wanted a juicy color (yes, it is) and the yardage is close to the desirable. Yet, for once I wanted more reddish plum color... The garment is very nice, but my purple looks more blue on the green background. Blue - my love, my curse ;-) Shall I continue or shall I search for the plum-colored silk? That's a tough question...
